Course Information
In-person foundation site safety training aligned with WorkSafe-recognised Site Access Guidelines, including NZQA Unit Standard 497 and ConstructSafe Foundation Assessment support.
Course Description:
The BeSafe Site Passport — Construction is a one-day, in-person foundation health and safety programme for workers entering or working in New Zealand’s construction industry.
This programme has been developed to align with the CHASNZ Site Access Requirements, a WorkSafe-recognised industry guideline designed to create a clearer and more consistent approach to worker readiness before entering construction sites.
The BeSafe Site Passport — Construction provides more than a basic induction. It supports better learning outcomes by combining structured foundation health and safety training, NZQA-recognised achievement, and ConstructSafe Foundation Assessment support into one clear programme.
For employers, this provides confidence that workers are not only completing foundation training, but are being prepared in line with recognised industry guidance and regulator-aligned expectations for site access.
Why This Programme Matters:
Construction sites need workers who understand more than general health and safety theory. Workers need to understand their responsibilities, common site risks, safe behaviours, and the expectations placed on them before entering active worksites.
The CHASNZ Site Access Requirements outline a practical model for improving consistency across the construction industry. This includes foundation health and safety training, independent knowledge assessment, site-specific induction, and appropriate supervision.
The BeSafe Site Passport — Construction supports this approach by giving learners the foundation knowledge and assessment preparation needed to contribute more safely and confidently on site.
