Our Workplace First Aid course will help you to gain the confidence to provide first aid when it may be required. You will learn to assess and manage a patient for: shock, bleeding, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, poisonings, heart attack, asthma, stroke, seizure and diabetes.

You will also be able to provide basic life support through CPR and management of a foreign body airway obstruction (choking).

Our Advanced Workplace First Aid course is ideal for those who may be required to respond to complex or multiple-patient emergencies in the workplace. This one-day course, delivered in a blended format, builds confidence and competence in managing a wide range of trauma and medical conditions. It meets the training requirements of NZQA Unit Standards 6400, 6401, and 6402.

Learners will develop the practical skills and knowledge to provide immediate and appropriate first aid in high-pressure situations, including CPR and obstruction management.

What You’ll Learn

  • Primary and secondary assessment of patients

  • Management of multiple patients experiencing:

    • Shock, bleeding, burns

    • Fractures, soft tissue injuries

    • Poisoning, seizures, stroke

    • Heart attack, asthma, diabetes

  • Scene assessment and safety procedures

  • Basic life support including CPR and choking (foreign body airway obstruction)

Course Delivery

  • Pre-learning: Online module to be completed prior to the practical session

  • In-person: One day of hands-on training at a Besafe Training location or available at your site

 

NZQA: No modules

If your first aid certificate is due to expire come and refresh your first aid skills with Besafe Training on our first aid refresher course. Refresher training is required every 2 years.

Our first aid refresher course will bring you up to date and ensure you can provide effective first aid when it may be required.

Our CPR Mannequins are equipped with the latest technology to provide real-time feedback which has been shown to improve CPR skill acquisition and performance.
