WTC1 – Electrical Supply Industry

Course Information

This course will provide you with the foundational safety competencies required to work on the Chorus network. Our experienced tutor will help you gain knowledge of health and safety and use of personal protective equipment in the electricity supply environment are able to identify electricity systems.

Unit Standard includes:

10508- Identify electricity systems in preparation for work. ( 6 credits )

18038- Demonstrate knowledge of and apply health and safety in the electricity supply environment. ( 5 credits )

10507- Use personal protection equipment within an electricity supply environment. ( 4 credits )

12300- Demonstrate knowledge of electricity industry safety statutes and codes – NZECP 34 & SM-EI  ( 6 credits )

Pre-requisite: First Aid NZQA Unit standards 6401, 6402 or 26551, 26552

• Assessment written and practical 10507, 12300, 10508 and 18038
• Course achievement certificate and training card will be provided

COMPULSORY PRE-COURSE READING

To ensure you have the initial knowledge to successfully complete your WTC training, you will be emailed a link on your booking confirmation, to access copies of the workbooks for the unit standards you will be completing. It is vital that you take the time to read through these prior to the course, if you have any questions, take note of these and be sure to discuss them with the tutor during your course. If you do not complete the compulsory pre-reading, you may be asked to leave the course.
