WTC1 – Electrical Supply Industry Safety

Course Information

Electrical Supply Industry Safety

Course Duration: 2 days

Unit Standard includes:

10508- Identify electricity systems in preparation for work. ( 6 credits )

18038- Demonstrate knowledge of and apply health and safety in the electricity

supply environment. ( 5 credits )

10507- Use personal protection equipment within an electricity supply

environment. ( 4 credits )

12300- Demonstrate knowledge of electricity industry safety statutes and

codes – NZECP 34 & SM-EI  ( 6 credits )

Pre-requisite: First Aid NZQA Unit standards 6401, 6402 or 26551, 26552

Day 1 (Initial Training – at training centre)

 

  • Theoretical training
  • Initial Training Certificate will be provided

 

On – Job Experience

 

  • A supervisor/team leader will observe two occurrences, of the following:

 

    • Select, use and service electricity supply personal protective equipment
    • Identify and manage hazards or risks on site.
    • Maintain and monitor site integrity on an electricity supply site
    • Maintain emergency equipment and alternative access

 

 

Day 2 (Assessment– at training centre) – to be booked when the candidate has completed the on-job assessment

 

  • Assessment written and practical 10507, 12300, 10508 and 18038
  • Course achievement certificate and training card will be provided
