  • plan for asbestos removal;
  • prepare site for removal;
  • supervise testing, compliance, and documentation in consultation with the assessor and the asbestos revivalist;
  • oversee removal and decontamination processes; and
  • supervise and support team members.

removal licence or for the renewal of an existing asbestos removal licence from WorkSafe New Zealand (WorkSafe). WorkSafe will make a decision whether to grant or renew a licence based on the information and evidence provided by the applicant.

Entry Requirements

Once you have completed the supervisor training, to be a nominated supervisor you must have at least:
  • three years relevant industry experience in removing friable asbestos for a Class A asbestos removal licence
  • one year’s relevant industry experience removing non-friable asbestos for a Class B asbestos removal licence
