EarnLearn training FAQs
Does EarnLearn pay for my course?
If the training is an approved requirement of your EarnLearn apprenticeship, eligible course costs are covered by EarnLearn after you have signed up to your apprenticeship. Conditions apply to re-sits, non-attendance, failed assessments and rebookings.
How do I know which course I need?
Check the Welcome Email provided by EarnLearn. This should identify the health and safety training and unit standards required for your apprenticeship. If you are unsure, contact EarnLearn or speak with BeSafe before booking.
Which First Aid course should I book?
Electrical apprentices generally require Workplace First Aid covering unit standards 6401 and 6402. Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying apprentices generally require Advanced Workplace First Aid covering unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402.
Which Working at Heights course do I need?
The BeSafe EarnLearn pathway includes unit standards 23229 and 15757. Learners must have at least three months’ relevant industry experience in a workplace where working at height is performed or height-related hazards are present.
Which Confined Space course should I complete?
EarnLearn apprentices requiring confined-space training need a course covering unit standards 18426 and 17599. BeSafe’s applicable course is Working in a Confined Space.
What if I already hold the required unit standards?
If the required unit standards are already recorded on your NZQA Record of Achievement, you may not need to repeat the training. Check with EarnLearn before booking another course.
What information should I provide when I book?
Complete your learner information accurately and provide your National Student Number if available. Most importantly, make sure you identify yourself as an EarnLearn apprentice or trainee.
