Designed for those seeking to become asbestos assessors, especially for Class A (friable) removal work where clearance certification is legally required.
You will develop the skills and knowledge required to carry out asbestos assessments associated with removal work, including air monitoring and clearance inspections, in accordance with New Zealand regulations and industry best practices.

Course Delivery:
Delivered over two days, this course combines classroom-based learning with practical assessment activities. It includes case scenarios and documentation tasks to simulate real-world removal environments.
Certification and Licensing Note:
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded NZQA Unit Standard 29768. This course supports your eligibility to act as an asbestos assessor as required under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016. To apply to become a licensed asbestos assessor, please contact WorkSafe New Zealand for full requirements.
