Height safety equipment must be safe, traceable and fit for use.
This practical course teaches learners how to inspect and maintain height safety equipment. Learners will identify damage, wear and other defects. They will also learn when equipment must be removed from service.
The course also covers basic maintenance and inspection records.
Training and assessment align with NZQA Unit Standard 19359 – Identify, inspect and maintain height safety equipment, Level 3, 3 credits.

Specialist repairs and internal servicing of sealed fall-arrest devices require additional training. The inspection or certification of permanent anchor systems may also require specialist competence.
