Course Information
This two-day interactive course is designed for senior secondary school students interested in exploring a career in the construction or infrastructure industries.
It introduces essential health and safety principles with a specific focus on safe working at heights.
What You’ll Learn
Through practical activities and real-world scenarios, you will learn how to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements (US 497)
- Apply health and safety risk assessment to a job role (US 30265)
- Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height (US 23229)
- Employ height safety equipment in the workplace (US 25045)
This course builds your understanding of key construction safety procedures and prepares you for entry-level roles or further industry training.
Course Delivery
The course is delivered over two full days at your site or ours and includes hands-on, scenario-based learning using industry-standard safety equipment. Students are supported by experienced instructors who create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Certification and Pathways
Upon successful completion, you will receive NZQA credits and a Construction Safety training certificate. This Gateway programme supports future pathways into apprenticeships, trade training, and entry-level employment in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
