This is a full-day course recommended for anyone working in the maintenance and construction of water services. Working in this area exposes you to the risk of disease from pathogens and it is important to understand the risk and how to manage it.

A pathogen (viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and worms) is an organism that causes disease. Pathogens can cause disease upon entering the body

This unit standard is for people who work on water, or wastewater, or stormwater reticulation systems, which collectively make up water reticulation services.
